GREENVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - A Darke County jury reached a verdict against a couple on trial in connection to their son's death, after nearly 13 hours of deliberation.
The jury found Michael and Melody Fisher guilty of child endangering.
However, the jury could not reach a decision on involuntary manslaugher charges, leading the judge to declare a mistrial.
The couple's son, Michael III, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the family's Fort Recovery home in August 2011.
The trial began Tuesday. Jurors started deliberating around 12:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
The couple is scheduled to be sentenced for the child endangering charges on April 24. That's when prosecutors must make a decision on whether to refile involuntary manslaughter charges.
This year, they will help 13 families in need buy toys, clothing and other items.
