WAYNE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) - One person was found dead early Monday morning after a camper went up in flames in Darke County.
Det. Sgt. Mike Burns with the Darke County Sheriff's Office told 2 NEWS that a woman living inside the home at 11632 Mangen Road spotted the fire just before 3:00 a.m.
The woman called 911 after she saw noticed someone inside the camper.
Sgt. Burns said a man lives inside what was a small travel camper, and stays there on a regular basis while doing work for the property owner.
Burns said he could not confirm whether this man is the victim and that it may be several weeks before authorities will be able to identify the remains.
The Darke County Coroner was on scene, as well as Versailles firefighters and EMS.
Fire investigators have not yet determined a cause.
Family members will be notified as soon as the victim is identified.
