DARKE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) - A motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital after colliding with an SUV in Darke County.
Crews were dispatched just before 3 p.m. Sunday to the intersection of State Route 49 and Oakes Road.
According to the Darke County Sheriff's Office, 61-year-old James Clevenger was driving his motorcycle north on State Route 49. Officers said 49-year-old Sherri Wright was stopped in an SUV at State Route 49 and Oakes Road waiting to make a left turn. Deputies said Wright failed to yield and turned into the path of Clevenger.
Clevenger lost control of his motorcycle, veered off the right side of the road, and was thrown from his bike.
Deputies said he was not wearing a helmet.
Clevenger was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight.
He is listed in stable condition.
The Darke County Sheriff's Office is still investigating.
