GREENVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) - Darke County Sheriffs deputies and detectives are investigating a fatal shooting from overnight.
The Darke County Sheriffs Office received a 911 call just after 1 a.m. Thursday that a 10-year-old boy had been shot at 995 Peters Road.
Preliminary findings suggest the boy shot himself in the head accidentally, according to the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies and medics arrived, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff Toby Spencer said the shooting is still being investigated.
The child's name has not been released.
