SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - A Clark County woman was indicted on a theft charge, after prosecutors say she lied about having cancer to get donations for treatment.
The Clark County Grand Jury met on Tuesday and returned the indictment against Michelle Mundy.
Springfield police say Mundy told people she had stage four lymphoma. Her former employer, the Ohio Masonic Home, says she received a large amount of money from its fundraising efforts.
Mundy's husband is a South Vienna police officer. Corporal Matt Mundy was placed on administrative leave following the accusations. While there is an ongoing investigation, he is not facing any criminal charges.
