SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) - OSP Troopers were called to a home in the 2000 block of Stowe Drive early Monday morning after a driver crashed into a neighbor's garage then drove away.
The homeowner, Pete Sadlier, told us it sounded like a thunder storm when the car slammed into his house just before 3:00 a.m.
Trooper Erika Englund told us they found the car behind the house, which led them to the driver-- identified as 51-year-old, Monte Gakle.
Gakle lives on Stowe Drive. Troopers believed he was trying to pull into his own driveway.
Sadlier and his wife won't be able to get their cars out of the garage-- the damage left the garage door unusable.
They were able to stay in the home overnight.
We're told Gakle now faces charges for OVI, failure to control, and for fleeing from the scene.
