MAD RIVER TWP., Ohio (WDTN) - The Mad River Township Fire Department in Clark County is working on the next step toward a new fire chief.
Trustees fired Chief David Leist this week for mismanagement. They say Assistant Chief Elmer Beard is currently in charge, but there are no plans in place yet to hire a new chief.
Trustee Joe Catanzaro says, "I think the public in general are tired of paying for public officials and public employees that don't perform their duties of their job requirements."
He says trustees plan to hold a meeting on May 20 after which the public will be allowed to comment.
