SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - Reports of a man waving a gun around inside a Springfield home raised concern as it was near an elementary school.
Springfield police responded to the 800 block of West Pleasant Street just before 2:00 pm.
The caller who identified herself as the man's girlfriend, told them he was waving a gun around and acting erratic.
It took police a few minutes to safely get the man to come out. They say it appears he was suffering from a medical condition that was causing him to stutter and sweat.
Officers also noted that the air conditioning was on high and the home was very cold.
They took the call very seriously since the home is adjacent to Fulton Elementary School.
The man was taken to the hospital for treatment. No one else was hurt.
