ENON, Ohio (WDTN) - A Clark County woman was indicted Tuesday, accused of stealing from her former employer.
Debra Maurer, 48, of Enon, is charged with theft in office and tampering with evidence.
The charges stem from her employment as the clerk and treasurer of Enon.
Investigators say she stole nearly $40,000 from the village between 2008 and 2012. They say she deposited village funds into her personal account then altered village records and bank statements.
