MAD RIVER TWP., Ohio (WDTN) - A Clark County fire chief is on the hot seat in the small community of Mad River Township.
A hearing continued late into the evening Monday about the fate of Chief David Leist.
Township trustees accused Leist in April of handling several issues poorly in the department.
Among them, that he failed to document training and staffing changes.
They are not criminal charges, but the hearing is designed much like a trial.
Both sides have the opportunity to state their cases before any decisions are made. Trustees and Leist both have counsel.
Leist is currently suspended with pay.
