SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - The discovery of a suspicious package shut down a postal facility in Springfield Friday afternoon.
The package on the loading dock of the post office on North Limestone Street was addressed to Springfield Police Department and labeled with the words "be careful how you handle this."
The Dayton Bomb Squad was called, and after the package was detonated, they opened it and found it contained drug paraphernalia.
Police said it appears someone was trying to get rid of drug gear, but dropped it off at the post office instead of a block away at the police department.
No one injuries were reported and the post office reopened for business.
