Austin Thornton, 19, was assaulted in Huron County, Ohio early Monday morning. He was flown to a hospital in Toledo for treatment, where he remains hospitalized.
Police say two other 19-year olds are charged in this case. Tyler Smith is charged with attempted murder. Connor Holbrook is charged with felonious assault. Both are reported to be from Bellevue, Ohio.
Reports say Thornton was visiting friends in Willard when the attack happened.
Thornton's family held a prayer vigil in St. Paris Wednesday evening. They want justice served.
"They should get the maximum sentence because they probably ruined his life. The don't know if he's got brain damage yet. They won't know until they wake him up," said Cheryl Baldwin, Thornton's aunt.
Thornton graduated from Graham High School in 2012 where he played on the soccer team.
