Matthew S. Puccio, already in prison for murder, was in a Champaign County courtroom Wednesday to be sentenced on sexual misconduct charges.
Puccio, 27, was sentenced to an additional three years in prison for one felony count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in connection to a February 2012 incident in which he engaged in sexual conduct with a female who was 14 years old at the time.
The victim told Urbana police that in December 2012 she was raped by Puccio while she was staying with him in Urbana.
Puccio said he met the teen in Texas and claims she told him she was being abused at home when he brought her to Ohio.
Puccio is serving a 42 year prison term for the 2012 murder of Jessica Rae Sacco.
Sacco's mother, Susan Taynor, was in the courtroom for today's sentencing and had words for her daughter's killer.
"I hope the prison shows you the same mercy you showed your victims," Taynor said. "Yeah because he shows no mercy. So I hope the prison shows him the same as what he showed my daughter."
The judge ordered Puccio to serve his sentences concurrently, and designated him as a Tier 2 sex offender.
