WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WDTN) - A 17-year old girl was killed when her car struck a tree on an Auglaize County road.
Investigators say Emily Ann Saam, of Wapakoneta, lost control on State Route 501 just north of Linzee Road around 12:30 pm Thursday.
They say her SUV drifted off the side of the road and hit a tree. Saam was dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
Riverside residents met with the Ohio EPA and Ohio Department of Health after concerns of toxic chemicals could be polluting their homes.
The Darke County Sheriff's Office was busy responding to several weather-related crashes Tuesday night. Deputies say many of the main roads are clear but most of the secondary streets are caked in ice and snow.
