RICHMOND, In (WDTN) - Richmond police find themselves playing a numbers game. Officers are adding up a rash of recent robbery attempts.
The latest incidents happened Wednesday at two different locations. Phillip's Drugs on E. Main Street was hit at 5:30 pm.
Police think the same man in the surveillance photos then tried to rob the LeeBee's Tobacco shop at 7:45 pm.
Investigators say the suspect claimed he had a gun in his pocket. Clerks at both stores asked to see it. They refused to hand over anything when the suspect refused. He then walked back out the door empty handed.
These latest attempts bring the total robberies and attempts to seven in the last 15 days.
Police believe the two last night are connected. They're still figuring out whether any more are connected.
Officers believe they're dealing with three or four different robbery suspects.
