COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP) — Gov. Mike Pence will play the guitar and sing a John Denver song with his 20-year-old daughter Charlotte at a tribute Friday to a long-time Columbus music store owner.
Both Pences took lessons from Tom Pickett at Pickett's Music Center. Pence press secretary Kara Brooks says the governor took guitar lessons from Pickett.
Other members of the Pence family plan to attend the Friday evening show at The Commons in Columbus. The Republic reports (http://bit.ly/120ZJu7 ) the tribute will feature more than two dozen performers who were either students of Pickett or influenced by him.
The John Denver composition the Pences will perform was not available Wednesday.
