INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A few dozen Indianapolis police squad cars have escorted a vehicle carrying the body of slain Officer Rod Bradway from a hospital to the coroner's office.
Police Chief Rick Hite is asking the public for prayers for the Bradway's family after he was fatally shot early Friday during a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex.
The police department says the 41-year-old Bradway was a five-year veteran of the force. He was married with two teenage children and was a native of the northern Indiana town of Nappanee (NA'-puh-nee).
The department says Bradway was a highly decorated officer who had received its Medal of Bravery.
