FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Police in Fort Wayne say an officer was badly injured when his squad car crashed into a utility pole while on the way to an emergency call.
The crash happened Thursday night on the city's southeast side and left the driver's side of the squad car smashed in. The Journal Gazette and WANE-TV report the officer was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
It wasn't immediately clear why the officer lost control of the squad car.
