Good Samaritan saves shopper having a heart attack, are reunited through social media

KPNX - (KPNX/NBC News) An Arizona woman and the Good Samaritan who saved her life have been reunited thanks to Facebook.

It was supposed to be a quick trip to the grocery store for Gloria Beasinger.

"I always go to Safeway but I was like, 'I'll just go to Albertsons today,'" she recalls.

It turned out to be a split-second decision Beasinger never imagined would have a life-or-death impact.

Beasinger was shopping in the back of the store near the meat department when she saw another customer collapse and go into medical distress.

A certified nurse, she rushed to help.

"She had a really weak pulse, she wasn't breathing. Her teeth were clamped and her eyes were rolled back," Beasinger says. "Completely unresponsive. I mean, she was stiff."

That's when her instincts kicked in.

"For one, it's the first time I had ever done CPR on a person in that type of situation," she says.
