DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A local business is out thousands of dollars because somebody has been cashing checks with their name on it. That thief was caught in action on camera.
At least twice in the past few weeks, Dayton Police say a man has walked into the Foodtown stores in Trotwood and Drexel and cashed bad checks.
The checks were either stolen from or used the account number of a local business which has now lost more than $2,000 as a result.
He was caught on a surveillance camera March 30 presenting a fake ID and address to cash one of the checks.
Police describe the suspect as in his 30s to 40s, wearing a black ball cap and shirt. He also has a mustache.
