2 injured in Jefferson Township crash, 1 thrown from car

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) - Montgomery County Deputies and emergency crews were called to a single-car accident in Jefferson Township.

The crash happened just after 10:00 a.m. in the 2500 block of Soldiers Home-West Carrollton Road.

Deputies tell 2 NEWS the 53-year-old driver of the car lost control in a curve and struck a large tree and then a utility pole, snapping it in half and then struck a second tree. Bystanders had both people out of the car when deputies arrived.

The driver was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The passenger, a 31-year-old man, was ejected from the vehicle, was also taken to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

Soldiers Home-West Carrollton Road was closed in the area while emergency crews helped the two people.

The accident is still under investigation.
