JACKSON CENTER, Ohio (WDTN) - A Sidney woman remains in serious condition following a Tuesdaymorning crash in which her car collided with a semi-truck.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Ohio 119 andPasco-Montra Road near Jackson Center. Shelby CountySheriff’s deputies, Jackson Center Rescue and police fromAnna, Botkins and Jackson Center, all responded to the scene.
According to the preliminary investigation, Vivian McDermit, 76,was stopped at a sign on Pasco-Montro Road when she reportedlypulled into the path of the semi headed west on Ohio 119. Thecollision caused her vehicle to go off the right side of the roadway and turn over on its side.
Ohio 119 remained blocked of about a mile west of the accidentas crews worked to free McDermit from the vehicle. Deputiesdirected traffic through the Pasco-Montra Road intersection andaway from the accident.
Deputies at the scene added McDermit was responsive uponemergency crews’ arrival.
The driver of the semi truck was transported from the scene toLima Memorial Hospital. CareFlight was called in to transportMcDermit to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton where she was listed inserious condition as of Monday evening.
The crash remains under investigation.
