Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) - What is a Festiki? It's a HUGE beach party with all things surfrelated. Music, food and adult beverages are on tap at the eventSaturday August 15, noon to 11pm. You'll think you're in Hawaii onthe beach with Hula dancing, a Tiki carving demonstration andmore.
Most importantly the Surf Ohio group who puts this on is verypro-environment.
The purpose is to promote and tangibly support thesustainability of our worlds beaches and coastlines the veryenvironment responsible for SURF OHIOs existence in the firstplace. If we cannot sustain the beach, it means that we are doomedto follow its demise. There is something inherent in human natureand DNA that draws us back to the water. If the water be it ocean, river, rain or drinking water is fouled, then so are we. If thebeach is not healthy, than neither are we. Its a simple matter ofbalance. In my maturity, if I may prophesize as an old guy for amoment, I realize that no good can come from imbalance.
