DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Two people were shot during a birthday party at a Dayton club early Saturday morning.
Police were called to 2027 Nicholas Road around 1:50 a.m. Saturday on reports of a shooting at the 19th Hole Club.
When crews arrived they located a large crowd leaving and a woman whom had been shot in the leg. The woman was taken by ambulance to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
While police were on the scene, they received a call that another shooting victim had arrived at Miami Valley Hospital by private transportation. The man had been shot in the stomach and was rushed in for emergency surgery.
According to police, because of the severity of the man's wounds, homicide detectives were called to the club to investigate further.
Witnesses said the incident started on the inside of the 19th Hole Club and then moved to the outside.
"There have been call outs to this location before, but not of this nature," said Sgt. Jeffrey Thomas of the Dayton Police Department.
