FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) — The U.S. Army is sending 11 soldiers to the Summer Olympics.

The soldiers include both coaches and athletes competing in wrestling, shooting, race walking, the modern pentathlon and boxing. They're set to talk to reporters Monday at Fort Carson as they get ready to leave for London.

The Army's World Class Athlete Program allows soldiers to train and compete in national and international sports competitions. Since 1948, 615 soldier athletes and coaches have represented the United States at summer and winter Olympic Games, earning 142 medals.

The London Olympics start July 27 and end Aug. 12.
