DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Owning a home is still the American Dream. That’s why Wright-Patt Credit Union and the following Miami Valley organizations are teaming up for Savings Race 4 – Home Edition to help Miami Valley residents achieve their dreams of homeownership:

  • WDTN Channel 2 News
  • HomeOwnership Center of Greater Dayton
  • CityWide Development
  • CountyCorp
  • Home Builders Association

Through the Savings Race 4 – Home Edition, Wright-Patt Credit Union members, Miami Valley residents, and our Savings Race 4 – Home Edition families will learn how to buy a home the right way, from the very first step.

WPCU coaches and experts will work with their families and help develop strategies designed to reach the goals they are given at the beginning of the Race. As part of the competition, families will be required to attend educational courses and will participate in life challenges and activities along the way.

Collectively, the fifteen families who participated in Wright-Patt Credit Union's first three Savings Races improved their net worth by nearly $400,000 - changing their lives forever!

The family coming closest to or exceeding their goals, along with the results of public online voting, their participation in life challenges and other activities and the scores of an independent judging panel, will be declared the winner and receive $10,000. All runner-up families will receive $2,000. Plus, as a bonus this year, all five families will receive a $1,500 Closing Cost credit towards a WPCU mortgage.
