DAYTON (WDTN) - The sudden death of Cincinnati Bengal, Chris Henry, shocked football fans around the country on Thursday.
At lunchtime, diners discussed Henry's death at the Frickers in
Washington Township.
"He was trying to make a good comeback from that stuff that
happened in the past," said Louie Bowser.
"He was a great player. It's too bad for his family especially for his kids to have to live with something like that. It's really too bad."
Sports talk radio host, Mark Schlemmer dedicated all four hours of his show on WONE to Chris Henry. Even before he hit the airwaves, the phone lines started to light up.
"As much as you might think Mike Brown's a goof, he hit this one on the nose. He helped this kid out," Schlemmer told his audience.
"But, people are going to look at the rap sheet and go, "you could see it coming". It was a train wreck waiting to happen. Unfortunately at 26, maybe he had turned things around".
