DAYTON (WDTN) - China Arnold is serving life in prison for killing her daughter, but it was her lawyer who made headlines on Tuesday.

Arnold's attorney, Jon Paul Rion, pleaded his client's case before the 2nd District Court of Appeals. He was about five minutes in to a 30 minute oral argument when he collapsed.

He was out cold for a few seconds, but asked the judge to go forward with the hearing.

After a brief recess, the judge decided it was in the best interest of the case to postpone.

That means more waiting, for China Arnold, who has been behind bars since 2008.

She was convicted of killing her 28 day-old daughter, Paris Talley, in a microwave in 2005.

Arnold was sentenced to life in prison without parole and has already been denied a new trial one other time.

The appeals hearing has been rescheduled for Friday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m.
