TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - Trotwood police closed down Higgins Station bar on Thursday, October 29.
The bar has been the scene of several violent crimes.
According the Chief Quincy Pope, in the last year, there have been two homicides on the property and more than 150 calls for help.
"The acts of violence that are taking place, they are in a residential neighborhood," said Chief Pope. "We simple want it shut down. We want it stopped".
A judge granted a temporary restraining order, allowing officers to shut the bar down for fourteen days.
After that, police will return to court for another hearing where the future of the bar will be decided.
A Higgins Station employee, named Cicely, said she hopes that the bar re-opens.
"The unfortunate events that occurred here are indicative of the changes in Trotwood, not necessarily inside Higgins. I always felt very safe here," she said.
