WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN) - What was once the speed limit in West Carrollton will now get you a ticket.

The speed limit was officially lowered Thursday from 35 mph to 25 mph on the Dixie Drive/Central Avenue corridor. The 25 mph speed limit is between Elm Street and the new Exit 47 interchange.

City officials are looking to make the area a safer place to park, walk or bike.

They are also adding 77 on-street parking space in this area.

The official ribbon cutting at the new i-75 interchange is Friday, although the interstate ramps have already been reopened.
