LONDON, England (WDTN) - Olympic volunteers are now hard at work helping visitors maneuver Heathrow Airport in London.
About a thousand people are wondering the concourse welcoming athletes and tourists arriving for the Games.
You can't miss them. They wear bright pink shirts and many are multilingual.
"I am a retired athlete. I competed internationally. In bobsleigh nationally and athletics. So I've always wanted to work around the Olympics. Obviously as an athlete the dream is to compete in an Olympic games. I missed that as a bobsleigh athlete. I just missed Vancouver, so for me to be involved in a Summer Olympics not quite as an athlete, working, is a real dream come true. That was my route, my avenue, into Team Heathrow," said Joanne John, Olympics volunteer.
The volunteers will serve visitors through September ninth.
