LONDON, England (WDTN) - Some tickets to the London Olympics are being illegally re-sold.
The U.K's Sunday Times reported that some authorized sellers were caught re-selling the tickets up to ten times their face value.
The chairman of the Olympic Organizing Committee calls the report "depressing".
"I spoke to all 204 National Olympic Committees and said 'look be very clear that you are in a country that does not tolerate this, you're in a country where the press is probably at its most forensic, we have a Metropolitan Police unit of now well over 50 people looking at this particular issue'. We've raised the level of fines and in the Organizing Committee we have a zero tolerance to it so I'm surprised that anybody would have wanted to take that risk knowing the marketplace that we're living in," said Sebastian Coe, LOCOG Chairman.
An inquiry is not expected to be complete until after the London Games are over. The International Olympic Committee can suspend any officials implicated in the investigation.
Officials say about 2,500 bikers from across the country enjoy GOBA each year. …
