CINCINNATI (WDTN) - Dusty Baker will skipper the Reds for at least two more years.
The Cincinnati Reds and field manager Dusty Baker agreed to terms on a 2-year contract extension through the 2014 season, the Reds front office announced Monday afternoon.
"In Dusty's five seasons here he's taken us to the post season twice and has proven he can lead our teams to championship-caliber play on the field," Reds President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Castellini said. "He's the right manager to continue the building process that will take us deeper and deeper into the playoffs in the future."
The Reds are the 2012 National League Central Division champions, but failed to advance in the playoffs after losing a five game series to the San Francisco Giants.
Baker, 63, first signed with the reds in October 2007.
