TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - Two local football teams will both play for state championships this weekend.

Trotwood aims at the Division 2 crown while Shawnee hopes to grab the Division 3 championship.

In Trotwood Thursday morning, plenty of school spirit on display as students and staff gathered to give the Rams a royal sendoff.

Coach Maurice Douglass and his team are making a second straight trip to the Division two championship. The Rams came-up just short against Maple Heights last season.

Undefeated Trotwood will take on 13-1 Avon. It will be a 7:00 showdown at Massillon's Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.

Meanwhile up in Clark County, the Shawnee Braves were treated to a pep rally before boarding the buses for Canton.

The gold and black attack has Springfield buzzing with excitement as 14-0 Shawnee makes it first ever trip to the state championship game.

Rick Meeks and his Braves will face-off against 10-3 Youngstown Cardinal Mooney.

Also competing for state titles this weekend: Coldwater pursues the Division 5 title on Friday at 11am while Marion Local chases the Division 6 crown on Saturday at 11.
