SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) - Springfield Shawnee made it all the way to the Division 3 state championship game last year, falling just short against Mooney. This year, they are looking to finish the job.
The challenge will be great considering the Braves lost Central Buckeye Conference Offensive Player of the Year Brad Jarzab at quarterback and Defensive Player of the Year Lucas Sparks along with eight all-CBC players to graduation.
The cupboard is hardly bare. Head Coach Rick Meeks will have senior running back Alex McCrory in the backfield. The two time first team all CBC player rushed for over 16 hundred yards last year.
The amateur youth soccer tournament is one of the largest in the country.
