GWOC signing day for local athletes

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The Greater Western Ohio Conference continues to send its best football players to the top college programs in the country.

Wednesday was National Signing Day when players across the country officially sign on to play for a college.

The GWOC held an event in Huber Heights with 14 players signing on with Division One schools.

Centerville lineman Evan Lisle will join Trotwood's Cameron Burroughs at the Ohio State University with Butler Wide receiver Arian Kosak going down the road to Oxford to play for the Miami Redhawks.

Chaminade Julienne was one of many other schools that held signing day events Wednesday.

A good crowd was on hand to watch four C-J Eagles sign on the dotted line.  Football players Darrien Howard, Ja'mel Sanders and Brandon Payne along with track star Devanae Mitchell.

Urban Meyer signed some good recruits from right here in the Miami Valley, but he also signed some of the top high school players in the country.

Most recruiting analyst agree Ohio State has one of the top three recruiting classes of 2013.
