DAYTON, Ohio – A roar went up when the Wright State Baseball team found out they would be heading to the Lone Star State to compete in the NCAA Regional after claiming the Horizon League Championship on Sunday. The Raiders defeated UIC, 6-2, in the first ever extra inning Championship Game in Horizon League history and will play #14-ranked TCU in their opening contest of the NCAA Tournament.

The Green and Gold garnered the #4 seed and will head to Dallas/Fort Worth to face the top seeded Horned Frogs of Texas Christian at 8 pm Eastern Time. The other side of the bracket includes the #2 seed Oregon State and the third seeded Aggies of Texas A&M, taking to the field at 3:00.

Wright State has experience with all three of these teams, including some history with Texas A&M this season. WSU dropped the first four games of the 2009 season against the then #1-ranked Aggies. In 2006, WSU took one of three games against nationally ranked TCU at Lupton Stadium and later in the ’06 season dropped a 5-3 decision at Oregon State in the NCAA Tournament.

The Fort Worth Regional will start on Friday and run through Sunday, with the winner of the double-elimination regional advancing to play the winner of the Austin Regional.
