Need 2 Know: Foods that fight cellulite

DAYTON, OH (WDTN) - The quest to get rid of cellulite is a billion dollar business. Nine out of ten women have it. But before you spend money on expensive magical creams, here's what you need to know about foods that fights cellulite.

It's some of the toughest body fat to lose. While there is no cure for cellulite, watching what you eat will help target the unsightly lumps and bumps.

"You want strawberries. They're high in Vitamin C, which helps elastic and collagen. The more you firm that up, the more that cottage cheese is gonna disappear," said Dr. Lisa Masterson of the television program, The Doctors. Blueberries, almonds, and protein will also help all those things rebuild.

Don't be fooled by expensive creams that claim to make cellulite disappear.

"There are creams, but they only work at the surface level and they only act for short terms. So you're gonna spend thousand of dollars on creams and not be cured. The FDA says there is no cure for cellulite," Masterson said.

Also, stay hydrated. Many experts believe that plump, well-hydrated skin can camouflage the appearance of cellulite. About eight, eight ounce cups of water each day should do it.

Weight training can help reduce cellulite. But, what remains unproven is a brand new therapy making the rounds in Hollywood. Some celebrities are trying carbon dioxide injections to promote blood circulation.
