DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The Dayton Area Chapter of the American Red Cross is holding their 20th Annual Great Escape on Friday, April 8, 2011 starting at 6:00 p.m. This year's event is presented by Cassano's and will be held at the Schuster Center with live music performed by 24/7. The event's Master of Ceremony is popular WDTN-2NEWS Anchor, Dan Edwards. This fun-filled evening brings dancing, socializing, a silent auction and delicious food and drinks for all.

As one of the premiere fundraising events of the year for the Dayton Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, over 300 people have attended in the past - and this year's attendance could break old records.

"Proceeds raised from the Great Escape goes directly to our local Disaster Relief and Preparedness efforts," said Susan Sparks, Chief Business Development Officer for the Dayton Area Chapter. "Our supporters know that this fund is critically important for the Red Cross to provide local disaster response to help those in need."

The Great Escape is produced by the Dayton Area Chapter's Associate Board - a volunteer group of young area professionals representing the Greater Dayton community who donate their time and efforts to help support the Red Cross and Disaster Relief.

Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 the night of the event. Advanced tickets may be purchased either online at www.dac.redcross.org or by calling (937) 222-6711, ext. 103.
