Strickland won't rule out future run

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Former Gov. Ted Strickland has shut down his campaign fund but isn't ready to rule out another run for the office he held for four years.

The 70-year-old Strickland says he hasn't ruled a run for governor in or out and continues to be interested in Ohio politics.

The Columbus Dispatch reports Thursday that Strickland terminated his Strickland for Governor campaign fund earlier this week, contributing all but $5.87 of the nearly $11,000 remaining in the fund to the Capitol Square Foundation in Columbus.

The Democrat, who lost his re-election bid in 2010, is a resident fellow at Harvard University's Institute of Politics this spring.

On Wednesday Strickland was named one of roughly 30 co-chairs across the country of President Obama's re-election campaign.
