DAYTON, Ohio (DAYTON BUSINESS JOURNAL) - Dayton Business Journal: Gov. John Kasich is going to have some company from his home state when he speaks at the Republican National Convention this month.
The Republican National Committee said Thursday that U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, is part of a second wave of speakers that would take the podium Aug. 27-30 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Portman was rumored to be a possible vice presidential candidate pick to run alongside Mitt Romney, but the former Massachusetts governor instead chose Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin as his running mate.
