DPS needs substitute drivers

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - Dayton Public Schools is offering an informational meeting for anyone interested in becoming a substitute school bus driver for the district.

The session is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at 115 S. Ludlow St. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Those attending the informational meeting will learn about the application process and requirements for becoming a substitute driver for DPS, said Jim Harris, DPS chief operating officer. Eligible candidates will have a good driving record, pass a background check and have a willingness to learn.

Trainees receive three to four weeks of paid training to earn their commercial driver's license (CDL).
