1. Ohio Governor John Kasich will sign legislation that prohibits the sale of chemicals used to make synthetic drugs including bath salts.
2. The Great Miami River cleanup sweep starts Friday with teams of volunteers cleaning more than 150 miles of river that stretches from Indian Lake all the way to the Ohio River connection.
3. Ohio State Highway Patrol will hold an OVI checkpoint Friday in Warren County.
4. The Richmond Parks Department will co-host the first ever Starr- Gennett Kids Day from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Starr Pavilion on South First Street.
5. The 9th annual hot air balloon festival runs Friday through Sunday in Middletown, with balloons in the sky from 4 to 10 p.m.
