NEW YORK, NY (WDTN) - If you've ever had a screamer for a boss, this story will be music to your ears.
An article in Thursday's Wall Street Journal says the era of the yelling boss seems to be coming to an end.
New studies show yelling hurts the quality of employees' work.
Another deterrent could be the prospect of seeing the rant on Youtube the next day.
The "not-so-good part" of the no-yelling trend is that "people are pushing things under the carpet causing frustrations to seep out in other ways," said Jack Lampl, President of the A.K. Rice Institute for the Study of Social Systems in Rainier, Washington.
A company manager quoted in the Wall Street Journal article said he holds short, frequent meetings with employees having problems, rather than letting the pressure builds until it explodes into confrontation.
