KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) - The owner of a Moraine bird sanctuary that was raided in May spoke to 2 NEWS after a court hearing Tuesday.

Deborah Shell said she does not know why Humane Society Officials seized more than 120 birds from Wings over the Rainbow.

"The birds were cared for the right way and I am really at a loss," she said.

Humane Society officials said the birds were living in filthy conditions.

Shell could face animal cruelty charges.

Humane Society officials want Wings Over the Rainbow to cover the cost to care for the birds during the investigation.
