WDTN hires veteran as news director

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - WDTN-TV and Dayton’s CW are proud to announce the addition of Denise Eck as News Director of 2 NEWS. 

Ms. Eck comes to Dayton from Cincinnati, Ohio where she’s been the Assistant News Director for WCPO-TV since 2010.  Under her guidance, she led the news operation for WCPO-TV which was awarded Best Newscast by Cincinnati Magazine.  Prior to her stint with WCPO-TV, Ms. Eck was the News Director of KTKA-TV in Topeka, Kansas.  In her new role, Ms. Eck will provide strategic direction, leadership and operational management for the 2 NEWS multiplatform newsroom.

“We’re excited to have Denise join the WDTN-TV and Dayton’s CW family,” said Joe Abouzeid, WDTN-TV and WBDT-TV President and General Manager.  “Her years of experience as well as her ability to lead a multiplatform newsroom have us excited for what’s ahead for the 2 NEWS team.”

Ms. Eck will begin her duties as News Director for 2 NEWS the week of March 11th.
