DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The Montgomery County Animal Resource Center announced a vaccination clinic on Wednesday, December 28, 2011.

The ARC is able to do this thanks to an ASPCA Grant to Communities in Need. In an effort to keep pets in their homes and out of shelters, the ASPCA has awarded the Animal Resource Center $5,000 for the vaccination of cats and dogs whose owners cannot afford yearly routine vaccinations.

The vaccinations include: Distemper/Parvo Combination & Rabies (1-3 years) Vaccine for dogs and Feline Distemper & Rabies (1-3 years) Vaccine for cats.

The event will be held at the Animal Resource Center located at 6790 Webster St. Dayton, OH 45414 on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 6:30p.m. 8:30p.m.

Families with pets in need of these vaccinations must show proof of public assistance or unemployment. The co-pay is $5 for one animal and $10 (total) for up to 5 animals.

Vaccinations are available for 200 animals so pet owners are encouraged to reserve a time by contacting the Animal Resource Center. You can do so by calling (937) 898-4457.
