DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A woman and her mother are being treated at an area hospital after being attacked by a pitbull in their home.
Dayton Police and Animal Control officers responded to the house at 41 George Street early Sunday afternoon.
A family member told 2News an argument triggered the dog to attack.
"I was arguing with my sister," said Keisha Stroud. "She walked into a bedroom where the dog was and he just started attacking her."
According to Stroud, she called 911 and then ran to a neighbors house for help.
"I found a bat and started hitting the dog with it, but it wouldn't let go of my sister," said Stroud. "Finally, my mom came in and somehow got the dog to let go of her."
The woman, who police believe is in her early/mid 20's, was rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries. The mother was also taken to a hospital by ambulance with dog bite wounds.
The dog was taken to the Animal Resource Center where officials say it will remain for atleast 10 days. It has not been determined if the dog will be euthanized.
Officials have not identified the victims in the attack.
The incident remains under investigation.
Prior to joining WDTN, Nathalie was working and living in her native Los Angeles as a multi-platform host.
The following people have recently been booked into Jail. They may not have been convicted of the crimes they are charged with and are innocent until proven guilty.
