DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - A dayton woman is going the extra mile to find the rightful owner of a picture she found on the floor of a Dayton BMV.
"I know I'd feel awful if I lost something like that and I would hope someone would return it to me."
Michelle Buchert was with her friend who was renewing her license at a BMV branch on Smithville Road near US-35. She says it was a mid-August afternoon when she saw it on the floor.
"We were walking away from the counter and the little kick board that goes across the bottom, I just saw it standing up on its end facing the counter, just a little white square and I just picked it up, I was curious what it was."
When she flipped it over, she knew she had someone's priceless memory in her hand.
"I was like oh my God, this picture is so old and somebody lost it i just felt bad, i felt horrible."
The picture, worn over time, was restored by Michelle so she could give you a clearer view.
"There's a lot of the picture actually missing. This piece is gone completely and what I had to reconstruct was the wheel and most of her face in the middle."
Michelle said she just scanned the picture into the computer to work her magic.
"I have a program at home that I can photoshop and make pictures a little different and I just used it to clean up the photo and actually add photo back into it."
Michelle says she wants to find the owner and put a smile on their face.
"I hope to get it back to the original owner. I hope somebody sees it and says that's mine and they can have it you knew it might be the only picture they have of that person or of the two people in there."
I know have the photo's in my possession. If you think it belongs to you, or, you know who this is so I can track them down, give me a call in the Turn To 2 office at 937.424.1518.
