The 3rd trial of a Dayton mother charged with killing her baby in a microwave begins

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) - The third trial for a Dayton mother charged with killing her baby in a microwave begins May 3, 2011.

Jury selection is expected to start early Monday morning for China Arnold.

"This is important to both sides. Both want a good jury," legal analyst Larry Denny said.

Prosecutors believe Arnold murdered her infant daughter, Paris Talley, by burning her in a microwave in 2005. An appeals court tossed out her previous murder conviction saying she did not get a fair trial.

It's very unlikely for something like this not to be resolved the third time, but it can happen," Denny said.

The latest filings from the defense and prosecution show a combined witness list of about three hundred people.

2 News will be following the entire trial.
